The Weller W60P3 3-Wire Soldering Iron with CT5A7 Tip uses Weller's "closed loop" method of controlling maximum tip temperature, - the temperature is controlled by the tip (600°F, 700°F, and 800°F tips are available). The nominal heat-up time with a 700°F tip is 110 seconds.

The modular plug-in heater is made of stainless steel which means it has greater efficiency and versatility. The WP60P3's heating element it uses is a nichrome wound, plug in. This soldering iron has a three wire grounded cord set and is a portable line voltage iron which means no base station is required.
