The AIM Solder 13258 SN100C Water-Soluble WS482 Cored Solder Wire is a water-soluble, halide-free, flux-cored wire that is highly active and compatible with water-soluble solder paste chemistries. WS482 offers improved thermal stability, allowing it to be processed with standard or high-temperature alloys. WS482 offers residues that are non-corrosive and, therefore, may be used without cleaning for applications where conductivity will not cause a problem (such as soldering wires). Post-process residues are safe to remain on many assemblies for up to two to three days. It produces excellent tarnish and oxide removal, it will not tarnish PCBs, copper, or solder joints, and offers excellent wetting and soldering characteristics.
AIM SN100C is a lead-free solder alloy developed by Nihon Superior in Japan that is comprised of tin, copper, and a small amount of nickel. SN100C offers user-friendly properties and has been proven in commercial production for more than six years. The patented addition of nickel imparts to the cost-effective tin-copper eutectic, and the wetting and flow properties make it possible to achieve excellent results in wave soldering at process temperatures comparable with those used with the tin-lead solder it replaces. Performance in wave soldering at least matches that of more expensive silver-containing alloys and the resulting joints are smoother and brighter.
